This Is Why

Folks have asked me why bring dogs up from Mexico.  Each time I board a plane with Mexican dogs on it or each time I pick Mexican dogs up at the airport, I know they are safe.  From that point forward they will be taken care of, there will be resources and a foster home, vet care, food, even a doggy bed and doggy toys.  And someday, no matter how long it takes, they will find a home.  Those are pretty good reasons.

But it goes beyond that.  Because left behind in Mexico, left on the street and in the dog pound, or left behind with people who hurt them, or left behind in the heat of the jungle-starving and diseased and unable to even find a safe place to die, are so many more dogs.  And if we don't help the few rescues there that do care, and we don't get their dogs here then there will not be a place for the others.

If we help them, they can keep helping the ones left behind.

These dogs were saved from the Mexican dog pound.  These are their first minutes of freedom.

This is why....
